When Life Shifts: Finding Strength After Becoming a Single Mom
There are some moments in life that divide everything into before and after.
When my home shifted from a two-parent household to a one-parent household, I felt like the ground under my feet changed completely. The routines were different. The energy was different. The weight of responsibility suddenly doubled — and so did the worry.
But in that same moment, something else grew too:
my strength.
I didn’t feel strong at first. I felt tired, overwhelmed, and unsure of what tomorrow would look like. But God moved quietly through those early days, reminding me:
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
And little by little, I realized that being a single mom isn’t about doing everything alone — it’s about letting God fill the gaps.
What This Season Taught Me
- I am capable of more than I imagined.
- My children are stronger and more resilient than I ever realized.
- God meets me exactly where I am — even in the chaos.
- Peace isn’t the absence of struggle; it’s trusting God within the struggle.
To Every Mama Facing a New Beginning
You are not failing.
You are not broken.
You are becoming.
Your journey may look different than you expected, but God can build something beautiful from it.
You are stronger than you know.
